Here is the portrait of  partners Brian Gonick and Richard Mashaal from Senvest that I shot forBarron’s Magazine, New York.

After a few debates on where to set the shot, we thought it would be fun to do the pictures up on the roof of the Senvest building downtown, in the snow, and that it would give the shot an exotic look to new yorkers…

Brian and Richard were very open-minded and enthousiastic, even after spending 15 minutes up there in the wind and a cool -15 degrees, with their shoes burried under 10 inches of snow!

I photographed Lhasa in 2006 for Ici magazine in Lachine. She was very generous with me as I photographed her, singing to herself the entire time when we weren’t talking. She invited me to an acoustic concert she was giving during the “Coups de coeur francophone”  and it’s been one of the few musical perfomances that has had the most profound effect on me.

Lhasa passed away this January.

Found this portrait of writer Nicolas Dickner while looking through my archives… I met Nicolas last year at the marché Jean-Talon; his (awesome) book Nikolski was being re-edited in Great Britain and was going to be distributed in many anglo countries and I did some shots of him for a newspaper in Abu Dhabi.

I like this portrait a lot. It shows a more troubled Dickner than the one we usually see in pictures in the Voir paper or other medias.

Had a shoot on the roof of a downtown building yesterday, in a cold minus 10 degrees and snow  flurries.

The final shot for Barron’s Magazine (New York)  will be available here in a week or two, but in the mean time, here’s a funny shot of my assistant Raphaël Ouellet.

Après le jury du concours Lux, (voir ce post), Infopresse m’a commandé des portraits des 18 membres du jury des Prix Boomerang, qui récompense les meilleures réalisations québécoises en marketing interactif et sites web.

Je leur ai proposé un style clair-obscur, très contrasté. C’est un peu cliché, mais je trouve que cette approche sied bien aux gens qui travaillent dans l’ombre, à la lumière de leur écran, à créer des univers virtuels. Pour voir la série complète, ce lien.

La soirée de remise des prix a eu lieu jeudi dernier, et c’est l’équipe de notre agence Leitmotiv Studio qui a couvert l’événement. Les photos de la soirée ici.

Pour la 12e édition du concours Lux, Infopresse m’a confié le mandat de photographier les deux jurys (photographie et illustration) et leurs présidents, messieurs Metz et Lino. 
À travers la pièce on pouvait entendre des bribes de débats animés. Le jury délibérait, et c‘était bien d’avoir accès aux coulisses du concours…

I shot We Are Wolves for the promotion of their new album Invisible Violence.

The band didn’t have much time so we set-up this fake moon in the street in front of the studio and just shot a few frames with fur hats and fake flowers and a waterfall poster…

C’est dans la coquette ville de Huntingdon, au milieu de la rue principale, qu’on a installé les chaises soleil et que le controversé maire Gendron nous a raconté sa vision du Québec, à nous et à mc Gilles, à travers les bruits de pick-up et les commentaires “pas de classe” de certains conducteurs des dits camions…

Deux visions du design s’affrontent dans la nouvelle édition du magazine Urbania, à travers les ambassadeurs du dit thème que sont Manon Leblanc et Frédéric Metz, tous deux réunis autour d’un dîner par l‘équipe du magazine dans le cadre de ses traditionnelles “rencontres improbables”.
