Le FTA dévoilait aujourd’hui sa programmation 2010.
Le Théâtre PàP y présentera “The Dragonfly of Chicoutimi” de Larry Tremblay, monologue troublant joué à cinq voix, dans un anglais de francophone.
J’ai réalisé les photos de promotion du spectacle sous la direction direction de Claude Poissant qui assure la mise en scène de ce spectacle présenté du 30 mai au 2 juin.

Créa, le jury
C’est jeudi dernier au Taz que les publicitaires d’ici se sont réunis pour se féliciter et se donner des trophées, dans le cadre du grand concours des Prix Créa organisé par Infopresse.
Belle soirée bien arrosée pendant laquelle j’ai pu croiser certains membres du jury que j’avais photographié durant les délibérations, plusieurs d’entre eux étant d”ailleurs appelé à monter sur scène pour recevoir un ou plusieurs Prix! Comme quoi le monde de la pub est petit… Ce qui ne l’empêche pas de faire de grandes choses, à l’occasion.

Jean-François Bouchard dans Premium

Le tout nouveau magazine Premium contiendra dans chaque numéro un entretien avec un dirigeant d’entreprise du Québec. Dans première édition, Jean-François Bouchard de Sid Lee y parle entre autres de multidisciplinarité.
Avec le directeur artistique Charles Desgroseilliers, j’ai pensé à une scène surréelle dans laquelle Jean-François semble en parfait contrôle d’un apparent chaos ambiant où les lois mêmes de la gravité sont remises en question…

Prix Grafika: le jury
C’est hier qu’avait lieu la soirée de remise des Prix Grafika au Métropolis. Mon équipe deLeitmotiv Studio était là pour documenter la soirée (images ici) et je peux maintenant partager les portraits des jurés du concours que j’ai fait il y a quelques semaines. Les portraits, les résultats, et tout le reste dans le magazine Infopresse de février.

Barron’s Magazine
Here is the portrait of partners Brian Gonick and Richard Mashaal from Senvest that I shot forBarron’s Magazine, New York.
After a few debates on where to set the shot, we thought it would be fun to do the pictures up on the roof of the Senvest building downtown, in the snow, and that it would give the shot an exotic look to new yorkers…
Brian and Richard were very open-minded and enthousiastic, even after spending 15 minutes up there in the wind and a cool -15 degrees, with their shoes burried under 10 inches of snow!

R.I.P. Lhasa

I photographed Lhasa in 2006 for Ici magazine in Lachine. She was very generous with me as I photographed her, singing to herself the entire time when we weren’t talking. She invited me to an acoustic concert she was giving during the “Coups de coeur francophone” and it’s been one of the few musical perfomances that has had the most profound effect on me.
Lhasa passed away this January.

Nicolas Dickner
Found this portrait of writer Nicolas Dickner while looking through my archives… I met Nicolas last year at the marché Jean-Talon; his (awesome) book Nikolski was being re-edited in Great Britain and was going to be distributed in many anglo countries and I did some shots of him for a newspaper in Abu Dhabi.
I like this portrait a lot. It shows a more troubled Dickner than the one we usually see in pictures in the Voir paper or other medias.

Raf on the roof
Had a shoot on the roof of a downtown building yesterday, in a cold minus 10 degrees and snow flurries.
The final shot for Barron’s Magazine (New York) will be available here in a week or two, but in the mean time, here’s a funny shot of my assistant Raphaël Ouellet.
